Let's take a quick trip down memory lane. 2009, we were freshmen in college. Enrolled in the same school yet studying different courses but were able to share few subjects together. Unexpectedly, both of us become attracted to each other but it didn't progress as we were individually committed to someone else. September 20, 2009, everything began when we got connected on Facebook. This is still an unresolved issue, pending argument as to who made the first move. So for the sake of this memory lane, let's just say Crisnel added Marvic on Facebook and Marvic sent the first message. Shortly after that, our day and night are consumed with harmless chats, endless conversation on Yahoo Messenger, (Millenials wouldn't relate), and non-stop texting that we realized this relationship can result in something that's more than just friends.
Our relationship started when we were so young. At the age when we are trying to get to know ourselves, what we want in life and who do we want to become. Being in a relationship, in the beginning, was easy. But keeping it for 11 years isn't. You get to know the person you're with and disagree on a lot of things. We learned through the years that we're the polar opposite and we learned how to deal with each other's incompatibility. Through the years, we realized that being there and keeping our relationship is a conscious choice.
After 12 years of knowing each other and 11 years of being in a relationship, Marvic finally sealed the deal of their lifetime. With the help of their family and friends, Marvic proposed to Crisnel on Sta Cruz Island, during their vacation last September 2019. It's probably one of the most memorable trips we had.
We initially planned to get married at Tagaytay, Philippines this July 2021. Which we have been planning since September 2019 (the proposal) however, due to COVID and the uncertainty of the situation in the Philippines, we decided not to pursue our initial plan. So the next option was either Plan B, to get married here in Dubai at the Philippines Consulate or Plan C, get married in the mountains of Georgia! Guess which one did we decided on?
