Kyle and Megan met at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire where they were both attending college and staying at a university apartment. One night they decided to go and get their mail from the front desk and crossed paths in the lobby. They both then got on the same elevator to head back up to their apartments. After Kyle cracked a few jokes that got Megan laughing, Kyle immediately tried to figure out how to find her on social media to start talking to her more. With the little help of a dating app, Kyle and Megan started talking and found out that both of them grew up within 30 minutes of one another in Illinois. They always joke that they had to travel 4.5 hours away to college to find someone who only lives a half hour away in their hometowns. Kyle and Megan then went on their first date (ice cream at Coldstone) shortly after starting to talk to one another. After a few months of talking and continuing to go on dates, Kyle asked Megan to be his girlfriend. Once Kyle graduated college, he moved back to his hometown in Aurora. Kyle and Megan then did about a year and a half of long distance while she finished up her degree. After Megan graduated college, she too moved back to Illinois where they were once again only a half hour away from each other. After about four years of dating, Kyle proposed to Megan on January 13th, 2025!
