Our Story

Alexandra and Daniel first met in the winter of 2022 at PSM Icehouse, where they both worked as skate guards (think lifeguards—but for frozen water). At the time, they were simply coworkers who only spoke during shifts, but Daniel would later admit he was instantly interested. Alexandra first noticed his height, while Daniel first noticed her hair. Although they crossed paths regularly at work, it wasn’t until March or April of 2023 that Daniel finally worked up the courage to talk to her outside of the rink. Before that, he was quietly checking the work schedule just to see when she would be working. One of their earliest memories together comes from an evening public skate, when Daniel showed Alexandra a large bruise on his side from being hit by a puck. Later that night, after the rink closed, they stayed on the ice with a friend, skating and racing around long after work had ended. Their connection continued to grow when Daniel reached out on Instagram, admitting he didn’t use the app and asking for her Snapchat instead. From there, they began talking more regularly and eventually planned their first outing outside of the rink—a Fort Wayne Komets game. Alexandra and Daniel briefly dated in the spring of 2023 before going their separate ways in July. However, they found their way back to each other and officially rekindled their relationship on November 29, 2023, and have been together ever since. Not long after, they said “I love you” and began building their relationship again—this time with a stronger foundation. While balancing college life at Central Michigan University, Daniel plays on the hockey team, while Alexandra supports the program by managing team statistics. Their shared connection to the sport continues to be a meaningful part of their relationship. Hockey and skating remain at the center of their lives together. Both Alexandra and Daniel also coach skating at their local rink in Mount Pleasant, where they continue to share their love for the ice—whether working with skaters, supporting the hockey program, or spending time together doing what they both enjoy most. Daniel proposed in Chicago on March 12, 2026, at the Lincoln Park Conservatory, exactly one year before their wedding day.
