Just the Beginning

March 20, 2021

Our story began with a digital "match" in the quiet, lingering December of 2020. What followed were three months of messages that turned into a slow-burn-build-up that felt like we were getting reacquainted with an old friend. When March 20, 2021, finally arrived, the digital world met the real one. We kicked things off with a classic South Louisiana night: eating at Seither's Seafood, followed by dancing the night away to the Top Cats at Rock N' Bowl. Between the smell of boiled crawfish and the high-energy horns of the band, any first-date jitters vanished. Ryan made me laugh so hard I could barely keep my footing on the dance floor, and in that joyful, neon-lit moment, the "maybe" turned into a "definitely." Weathering the Storm If our first few months were the "honeymoon phase," August of 2021 was the ultimate stress test. When Hurricane Ida tore through our lives, it brought challenges we never expected so early on. We didn't just learn about each other's favorite movies; we learned how we handle crisis, the grit of rebuilding, and the exhaustion of starting over. Through the cleanup and the chaos, we found something sturdier than the walls around us. We learned that we were a team- one that could find humor in a dark room and strength when the world felt a little bit broken. A New Chapter Together As life found its new rhythm, we grew in ways we never anticipated: Professional Milestones: We cheered each other on through the stress of new jobs and the pursuit of fresh ambitions, becoming each other's steady anchors in a sea of change. A Shared Foundation: We moved beyond "getting to know you" and into the beauty of "growing with you." Personal Evolution: Ryan became the calm to my storm and my most enthusiastic cheerleader, while I found a new sense of confidence and strength by his side. Looking back at that December day when we both swiped right, we realize it wasn't just a match; it was the start of a partnership that can weather anything. We aren't the same people we were when we were dancing at Rock N' Bowl that first night; we’re better, stronger, and even more in love. We can't wait to celebrate the next chapter of this story with all of you!
