Elizabeth's Version of Our Love Story

May 8, 2016

Our first date was a Sunday morning, spent walking around the Portland Saturday Market, wandering the streets of Chinatown and laughing over gin Bloody Mary's in downtown. Kevin didn't know Portland well, so on the walk back to my car, he passed the garage he parked in (which I believe he was nervous he would find again) and made a quick Irish exit. I was left walking to my car solo and without a first date kiss. After that departure I wasn't sure if he felt the chemistry I was confident in. I didn't follow any play hard to get rules and told him immediately I wanted to hear from him again - sharing my phone number on the dating app we first connected on. Within six weeks we went on our first road trip, traveling Eastern Oregon. We slept in a ghost town, car camped, and hiked with my dog, Zane. It was amazing and we really grew in our relationship. The next big step was Kevin introducing me to the kids a few months after dating. Our chemistry was also instant - with Gabby taking my hand and going out into the field to pick wild flowers for the dinner table. Lukas was happy to show me their homemade fort "the butt hole fort" named after the awkward circle entrance. In October 2016, Kevin was still hesitant to call me his girlfriend. We were exclusively dating, but the title was too much for him. Nonetheless, I was in love with him and had told him so. We then started house hunting in Camas, WA. As we watched the election results roll in, we got news that our offer for the house on Joy Street was accepted! It was a night mixed with sorrow for our country and complete bliss for our next stage in life. In that same month, Kevin told me he was in love with me. It wasn't until December 2, 2016, that Kevin asked me to be his girlfriend though! Two weeks later, we got the keys to our house and I became a stepmom. We didn't do anything the traditional way and I wouldn't change our love story for anything,

Kevin's Version of Our Love Story

I was reluctant for marriage. Everything had to be perfect. Elizabeth and I met in likely the most romantic way possible, a dating app. I looked at her pictures and swiped right, she looked at my pictures and swiped right. Before I knew it we bought a house together and shortly after that I asked her to be my girlfriend. It may actually not sound very romantic. However, I assure everyone it was and still is very much romantic. Extremely romantic. We are lovers. We would do anything for each other. We believe fate brought us together. Not really sure what else matters.
