Like all great modern romances, ours began the old fashion way - on Hinge, of course! We matched in March of 2023 when Jack just so happened to be visiting his old college roommate, Evan. And in a plot twist no rom-com writer could resist, it was actually Evan's now fiance, Marybeth, who chauffeured Jack to our first date. (Thanks guys, drinks on us tonight!) The date? Early. 8am breakfast date... Just like the movies, right? It had to be, Jack had a plane to catch just a few hours later and there was just something about this date we both couldn't say no to! Caffeine jitters or butterflies (I think we know now), but despite it all, the date went perfect! Conversation just flowed, we talked all morning, so much that Jack nearly missed his flight! Back in Louisiana, Jack wasted no time telling his mom about "this girl he met." He asked her, "Would it be weird if I flew back to see her again?" Thankfully, she said, "No, do it!" (Shout out supportive moms everywhere.) So he did. He flew right back to San Antonio just days later to take me on a second date. Which once again, was straight out of a Rom-Com. From there, we braved the trials of long distance romance - cue the late night phone calls, Facetimes, and virtual movie dates! In May, Jack asked to meet my parents. Naturally, the perfect setting for this high-stakes introduction was my younger sister's three-hour-long choir concert. (If that doesn't say commitment, I don't know what does.) On May 9, 2023 we made our relationship official, and the rest of the year flew by - we racked up frequent flyer miles like pros and I discovered a new love for a college football tailgate! (Go Tigers!) In March 2024, we packed up our lives and moved to Baton Rouge together, trading long distance calls for shared coffee mugs and grocery lists. And then, in December 2024 - just when I thought life couldn't get any sweeter - Jack got down on one knee and asked the easiest question I've ever answered. Now here we are, writing the next chapter of our love story- and it's only getting started!
