How We Met

One walk down the aisle changed everything

Once upon a time, two people went to the same high school—but never actually spoke. I always kept my distance, and my mom definitely wasn’t letting me cross the Seabrook bridge to find out otherwise. But as it turns out, God had a different plan for our story. Years later, He brought us together in the most unexpected and perfect way. Our best friends got married, and we both found ourselves in the wedding party… walking down the aisle together. From that moment on, what started as a simple walk quickly turned into something so much more. Not long after, Ian went back to Texas A&M, and I found myself making frequent weekend trips to visit him. As our relationship grew, so did our dreams. Life eventually led us to different cities—he accepted a job in Midland while I was accepted into nursing school in the Houston Medical Center. That season of long distance was the hardest one yet, but through it, God strengthened our relationship and reminded us to trust in His timing. A year later, everything fell into place when he accepted a job at NASA, allowing us to finally be in the same place again and begin building our life side by side. On December 7, 2024, he proposed at a Christmas tree farm in Wisconsin—truly a moment that felt like something out of a dream and a blessing from God. Later that same month, we bought our first home together and stepped into this new chapter with full hearts. Now, our days are filled with love, laughter, and life with our two dogs, Winston and Sally. We are so grateful for the way God wrote our story, and we can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter with all of you. “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” — Mark 10:9
