Her Side: A couple of us went out to Pacific Beach to have a little fun. Little did I know something amazing would happen. I would meet the man who will become my husband. While at Johnny V's, I spoke with a friend who knew the manager, next thing I know we were in a VIP booth popping bottles. I was enjoying myself a people watching when I noticed this guy built like a football player with a nice butt. I turned to my brother friend and asked what do you think? The friend mentioned he has tattoo's that sealed the deal for me. At this point, I do not know what came over me. I found myself tapping him on the shoulder. It was so loud in there we used some kind of code and ended outside to introduce ourselves. Shawn and I realized we had so much in common be sides the Navy thing LOL. We spent hours just talking and laughing not realizing the bar was about to close. Numbers were exchanged, we texted all the time for the next couple of days and from that day on it was just the 2 of us. His Side: Its weird how life happens in a single moment that moment was July 2, 2016 I was out with a good friend from my boat and his wife, we were out and about in Pacific Beach San Diego going from place to place drinking trying to enjoy the long 4th of July weekend. But ill admit at the time I was not necessarily feeling the mood, I was just standing off the side of the dance floor having a drink. There is something I told Rebecca the day I proposed to her " The two most important days in ur life are the day your and the day you find out why", and the moment that this women came up behind me and tap me on the shoulder and said "Hello" just hello no lame pick up line no offering to buy me a drink or asking to dance, just "Hello". we didn't go up to the bar to drink or flirt with each other, she asked to go outside and talk because a it was too loud and we talked for hours and you know what she made me realize I found out why, it was to spend the rest of my life with her.

We were in Chicago for my graduation from Naval Boot camp. My family, me and Shawn were exploring Downtown Chicago. We can to the Buckingham Fountain to take photos. Shawn hands me my graduation gift a little gray box with a quote on it saying "THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT DAYS OF YOUR LIFE ARE THE DAY YOU ARE BORN AND THE DAY YOU FIND OUT WHY." - The Apocryphal Twain. I opened the box and there was a silver challenger coin in side. The front of the coin was symbolic to the Navy and I turned it over it was engraved with "Rebecca will you marry me?" I looked up from the box and found Shawn down on one knee holding open a box with a gorgeous blue sapphire ring. After asking him if he was sure he wanted to marry me? Me? Marry Me? He said Yes and laughs with a smile on his face. And of course I said "YES"
