We will be getting married at our wonderful family friends, the Albaugh’s, renovated chapel in Gardiner, Maine on August 8th! They have tended and worked on this church to transform it into a beautiful retreat space that is all things family and home. It is right on the Kennebec River and feels like Heaven on earth! We are beyond thankful for their love and generosity to allow us to not only be married here, but to have our closest friends and family come as well and host us for the most sacred and special moment of our lives!
The wedding will be taking place outdoors overlooking the river, in the fresh Maine breeze. That being said, we will be moving from outside to the inside of the Chapel to have our celebratory wedding meal together with time to delight, enjoy, and relish in the moment through dancing, music, and lots of time to talk!
First, we want to thank you all for being willing to travel to join us for this time! We recognize that this is not a small ask, and it means more than we could ever tell you that you will be joining us. We only invited a handful of people and for you to make this we are beyond grateful. That being said, we have included several options for hotel stays on the website (travel section). While we will be getting married in Gardiner, the city that will be best for you all to stay is Augusta, the capital. It is about 15 minutes away and will be a much more convenient area to find hotels as it is a bigger city!
You all will fly into Portland International Jetport, Maine’s biggest airport in the largest city. We are asking that you all either pre-book or book a car reservation from the airport. We have included 4 separate car rental companies on our website and have included price ranges per day (lowest is listed) for a CUV and regular car. From the airport you can travel around Portland for a bit and explore, it is a beautiful area! Then, you will drive to the Gardiner area, about a 50 minute - 1 hour drive.
The wedding will be outside on the river bank, but, we are hoping not too hot. So, we are asking everyone to wear garden party semi-formal. By this we mean colorful dresses for the ladies and dress pants and a button down for the guys. Our colors are primarily light blue and a bit of yellow, so, feel free to have any of that in your clothes if you want! No pressure to do those colors specifically though.
