Traditionally, the only requirement for entry into Ireland is a valid passport. However, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated additional requirements. According to the US embassy in Dublin, a US citizen vaccinated against COVID-19 may enter Ireland with a negative COVID test result. A vaccinated individual must present their proof of vaccination (CDC vaccine card). They must also show either a negative antigen test from within 48 hours of departure or a negative PCR test within 72 hours of departure. For more information, please visit the US embassy website: https://ie.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/
A viral test, either an antigen test or NAAT test, is required within 24 hours prior to departure for America, even if you are vaccinated.
