Our wedding dress code is Creative Black Tie, which means formal evening attire with room for stylish and unique details. Think tuxedos with flair, elegant gowns or jumpsuits, and statement accessories. Have fun with color, texture, and prints—Tuscany deserves a little drama. Portions of the event will be on gravel and grass, so consider block heels, wedges, or stylish flats to keep you dancing all night. And remember: being overdressed is a myth invented by people who have never been fabulous. Check out this pinterest board for inspiration: https://pin.it/3v4TVM4Cc
Our rehearsal dinner dress code is Tuscan Semi-Formal—elegant and polished with a touch of Don Corleone. Think well-tailored silhouettes, rich fabrics, and timeless style. Flowy dresses, structured separates, or sharp eveningwear are all welcome. Jackets are encouraged but not required, and ties are optional. As the evening cools, a shawl, blazer, or light jacket will serve you well. Pienza is mainly cobblestone, so if you value your ankles, avoid wearing stilettos. We are registered with Zola and you can access it via the "Registry" tab above.
Yes! We will be updating the "Schedule" tab above with any and all events surrounding the wedding.
You will need a passport that is valid for at least 6 MONTHS after the planned end of your trip.
We recommend staying in Pienza as shuttles to and from the venue will be running from there on the wedding day. Please see the travel tab of our website above for hotel blocks + recommended Airbnbs.
The most cost-effective option is driving to Pienza from whichever airport you choose to fly into. Renting a car is very easy and there are pickup locations at all airports. Thankfully, Italians drive on the same side of the road as the US and Bulgaria! If you are coming from the States, we recommend getting an International Driver's Permit. The rental company will ask for it when you pick up your car. They are easy to get from places like AAA, cost around $30, and are valid for a year.
If driving through the Italian countryside isn't your cup of tea, private transfers from Rome or Florence to Pienza run around €350-500 each way. You can also take a train from one of the cities to Tuscany (Chianciano Terme is the closest station) and then hire a taxi to drive you the rest of the way to Pienza (25 min).
October in Tuscany is mild and pleasant, with average highs of 65-72°F (18-22°C) and lows around 50-55°F (10-13°C). It won’t be hot, but it can get chilly in the evenings, especially in the countryside.
Yes! We have started to compile some places of interest on our travel tab. Closer to the wedding we will also share our plans for activities during the day on Friday and Saturday (think wine/olive oil tasting, etc.) that are totally optional but you are welcome to join.
There is only Uber in the major cities (Rome, Florence, etc.) but it's generally less reliable than taxis. Once you get out into the countryside, taxis are less readily available and it's recommended to schedule one ahead of time.
