Circa mid 2016 Martin and Dani were enjoying single life, and being independent. In fact, they were making a conscious effort to stay single for their respective chapters in life. When they decided to meet for a date, Martin did not expect to have his breath (and 100% of his charming confidence) taken away the moment Dani walked through the door. He must have recovered well enough though, as the hours melted away with conversation and laughter. When Dani got home, she woke her sister in the middle of the night just to tell her that she had a really good date. Angela was very pleased to receive that update at two o'clock in the morning. The next few weeks were a tug-of-war to see each other as many times as possible, without coming on to strong. They weren't fooling anyone. On January 5th, 2017 the two said yes to love and never looked back. Most would say Martin and Dani's story is the stuff of Fairy Tales, and they followed passion with reckless abandon. Martin and Dani would agree wholeheartedly, this is their Fairy Tale.

Both sides of the family were well aware how serious Martin and Dani were about getting married and everyone supported enthusiastically. Dani's parents did not hesitate to give their permission and blessing when Martin asked to marry their daughter, and Martin's parent's began talking to jewelers before he had even begun to research engagement rings. It was December 2017, just as Martin was packing to go to South Africa for three weeks when he told Dani, "I'm going to come home from Africa with a ring and a very important question." That was the last the two spoke of engagement plans until February 9th, 2018. Under the ruse of a concert Martin's band was playing, Dani and her sister headed to the "venue" to see him play drums better than any other drummer that has ever existed. Martin greeted her saying, "There is no concert. You know what this is." Martin lead Dani into the cozy, beautiful recording studio where she was greeted by Martin's band mates playing her favorite song, her parents, aunt, Martin's parents, and Martin's sister. The music played just long enough for everyone to greet a very teary Dani. Martin then looked into Dani's eyes and delivered a speech so beautiful, it is rumored every living soul on earth felt nothing but joy during those moments. [See disclaimer above]. Martin got down on one knee and presented the African black diamond ring he had promised her. He asked. She said "Yes Yes Yes"
