Please note that Uber and Lyft don't operate in Budapest. However, getting a taxi at the airport is easy. Walk to the little taxi booth at arrivals and tell them the address of your hotel/airbnb. Getting a taxi in the city is a little more complicated. We recommend that you always ask the doorman at your hotel (or any hotel) to get you a reliable car. The average price of a taxi ride from Budapest airport to the city centre of Budapest is 8045 HUF (26€). Without traffic, the journey will take approximately 35 minutes. Make sure to tell the taxi drivers to turn the meter on when you get in the car.
You should expect daytime highs around 75 and night time lows around 55, without humidity.
The official currency is the Hungarian Forint (HUF). Both cash and card are widely accepted in Budapest with ATMs all over the city and the majority of shops and restaurants taking Mastercard and Visa. Small businesses might have minimum payments or only accept cash so it is best to have both on hand. $1 is about ~300 HUF (depending on the daily exchange rate) so keep that in mind as you shop.
Be sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months - otherwise you can't board the plane. No visa is needed to travel to Hungary.
