Martina and a few friends (Steph and Sara) made the hike to see her cousin Kim at the Respectables Annual Block Party. Jake, a friend of Kim's boyfriend Jay, attended the party too. Jake seemed to hover around Martina until he finally gave her some of his two for one beers. After a night of partying Martina got hungry and got a chicken cordon bleu quesadilla from the food truck but couldnt finish it. This dilemma of paying so much and throwing out perfectly good food led to her trying to find a person that could eat the rest. She looked over and saw Jake by her side and thought he would be able to finish it for her. Little did she know the key to his heart was through his stomach. He decided then to ask her on a date but it wasn't till after a few Facebook messages later a date was set. Their first date was breakfast at JPs Bagels in Hollywood followed by free diving off Hollywood Beach. Their second was watching the ENTIRE Star Wars collection in one sitting. From there it was an unstoppable momentuem of hanging out and growing closer. Fast forward a few months to her cousin Kyle's wedding when Jake first told her he loved her. From there Jake started formulating his plan to ask her to marry him.

On the first leg of their holiday trip Martina, Jacob, and Cassidy went to Ashville, NC. In book club they read a book called The Devil in the White City which talked about the landscaper who did the grounds of the Biltmore and it was a must see for Jacob along with the breweries. Martina had joked to her sister when planning the trip that the Biltmore would be a great place for a proposal after being in such awe when they went as kids. Unknown to Martina's spreadsheet itinerary, Jacob suggested a photo when they first arrived 10 minutes behind schedule. Martina caved. Cassidy started to take photos and after a look to one another Jacob got on his knee. Do not worry there is a video.
