Once upon a time, in a faraway bar called Blackwell’s (RIP), there was a handsome insurance man named Logan and a lovely banker named Heather. Logan was a frat-boy turned businessman looking for a good time, but Heather wasn’t that interested and had just found her niche in the world of finance. Their meeting that night was a casual one, but the story was just beginning. Then, one day as Heather was visiting her fair maiden friend at Riddle Insurance, she bumped – literally bumped – into Logan who asked, “Why do you have puppets on your hands?” to which Heather replied, “Why don’t YOU have puppets on YOUR hands?” And so it was then that the magic beans of love were planted. Logan would call to her through numerous cringe-worthy pickup line Tinder messages which would only result in Heather avoiding this odd suitor. But, on a clear moonlit night, Heather found her way to a quaint little house party that just so happened to be the home of our prince, Logan. As our awkward princess sat and began to eat Oasis rolls – and butter – from her purse, Heather noticed Logan noticing her and she offered up one of tasty morsels of bread to him. She then proceeded to steal his toilet paper only to bestow said paper back to him through the ritual of toilet papering his house in an effort to show her newfound interest. So through puppets, toilet paper and leftover rolls the bud of new relationship began to blossom. The young couple’s first date began as many did, with a trip to Nashville to eat at Demo’s and honkytonkin’ at the Tequila Cowboy. Logan parked in the furthest possible parking spot from the restaurant and almost lost his life’s love that night, not due to being inconsiderate to a lady and making her walk, but because the lady was out of breath from the long jaunt and was trying to hide her huffing and puffing. The date was saved and love bloomed as they sang Taylor Swift songs all the way home.
The years that followed were full of all the things that make life sweet along with those things that make us wilt. Our lovebirds, though, still stood strong. It was Christmas 2018 when our prince Logan gave the princess Heather tickets to the concert of her dreams, the Backstreet Boys. August 2019, the date of the anticipated concert, quickly rolled around and the excited pair found themselves parked in the same outer limit parking area and eating at the same restaurant like they had just a few years before. While Heather had dreamed of Logan proposing marriage one day, she wasn’t following the hints that day as he suggested ring shopping at the mall or getting photos taken in front of the arena prior to the concert. Instead, Heather suggested they use the time before the concert to get in more “steps” and proceeded to take laps around Bridgestone Arena assuring her nose was shiny and her pits were damp. Suddenly, Logan found a stranger to take his planned photo, asked Heather “Are you ready to get real awkward?” and dropped to his knee. To answer his question about becoming wedded wife, Heather gracefully answered, “Wait. What? Shut up. Yes!” She then took the ring from him and popped it on her own finger. The garden of love was then officially planted. Now the date is set, the cake is ordered and the vows are ready to be spoken. The family will gather, the friends will cheer and the bouquet will be thrown. The dress is a perfect fit and the tie makes a perfect bow. But most of all, the happy couple is ready to share the day they begin to share their life with you. The rest of the story has yet to be written, but as the garden continues to flourish, we can all be sure that Heather and Logan will live happily ever after.
