How we met

It all started with a pint of Apocalypse IPA

We first met after freshly turning 18, we lost contact for 3 years and found one another at Clouds bar, in Corvallis OR. We spend an evening exchanging many stories about how we both share similarities throughout our childhood, we had a few too many pints realized how much we make each other giggle- it's our strong foundation-to laugh at sometimes inappropriate things but to continue giggling through the toughest of times. The summer we met, Martin had an internship that took him to Richmond Indiana, I being myself took off and spent that summer with him, shortly after he was placed in a rotational program that made us move all around the Mid-West! We are so full of joy and excitement to now celebrate our next adventure. Our ceremony will be small and intimate, we would be so honored to share our love and stories with your presence.

The Proposal

The trip of a lifetime

Pre game jitters really came when I handed the responsibility to Mayra, Claudia's older sister, of packing the ring in her carry on luggage for our trip to Peru... Obviously running late to our flight at 4 in the morning! After connecting several flights the gang checked in into the rental house where unforgettable memories were made and life long connections were formed. Even though we fell in love with the city of Lima, the group prepared to board our plane to Cusco for more unforgettable adventures. We spent the night in an original Incan village home with a traditional introduction of Coca tea and to our surprise we happened to be in town for the annual celebration of El Nino Santo, with dozens of groups prepared to give a parade performance filled with fireworks, music, and dancing. Claudia and I topped off the night on a dinner date to Pizza and Beers and enjoying each others company overlooking the towns plaza. The next morning we boarded a train through the mountains to reach the trailhead to hike the stairs to Machu Picchu. As we neared the top of the stairs to the mountain, Mayra and I coordinated the ring exchange. When the ring came to my possession I started to feel the excitement of the moment and did all I could to hide my awkwardness from Claudia... of course that was not hard since the whole gang was gasping for air as we took each step to the top of our destination! I had an amazing outline in my head as, summarizing our entire relationship and highlighting several of our key moments (of course the summer in Indiana was part of it) as I awkwardly brought Claudia to the peak, locked eyes with her, all I can get to come out was how much I loved her and kept repeating over and over as I smiled and bravely got down to the LEGENDARY one knee and asked her the question of a lifetime, Te casas con migo? She said yes!!!
