Our story began in 2008, when I reluctantly agreed to join a friend picking up her kids from a recital in Maricopa. Little did I know, that evening would change everything. That’s when I met Zach—quiet and reserved, but still managing to ask for my number through his friend, who just so happened to be friends with mine. What started as a random meeting blossomed into something beautiful. From day one, Zach’s love for the boys was clear, and his caring nature won me over. We were married civilly many years ago, but at the time, we didn’t have church or religion at the center of our marriage. A couple of years ago, Carson and his Godfather—my brother—were in cahoots to get me back to church. They came up with a plan where Carson would ask me to go to Mass at St. Timothy Catholic Church, knowing full well I wouldn't be able to say no. I was very reluctant, and I told Zach about it. His response was, "I don't want to go!" to which I replied, "Me either!" After that first visit to Mass, we felt God’s plan unfolding, and the Holy Spirit moved in our hearts. We never looked back. Zach’s faith journey has been incredible to witness, and now, he’s preparing to become Catholic on Easter Vigil, April 19th.I’m honored to be his sponsor as he continues his process of conversion. Over the past year, he’s been learning, growing, and deepening his relationship with God. We’ve also started reading the Bible together, strengthening our faith and understanding of His word. St. Timothy has always held a special place in our hearts—it’s where Zach proposed to me before we got married civilly. It feels so fitting that we now come full circle, returning there as a family to deepen our faith. As our faith has grown, so has our commitment to praying together. Now, we pray daily—each morning, before meals, and at night. Sundays have become a special time for our family, too. We gather for family dinners, where the four of us share a meal together, taking turns choosing the menu and reading from the Bible. These moments have helped us bond as a family, strengthen our faith, and grow closer to each other and to God. At the same time, we’ve been going through marriage preparation to receive the Sacrament of Marriage. This time has been so meaningful, allowing us to reflect on our relationship, deepen our faith, and build a stronger foundation for our future. We are beyond excited to share this next chapter of our lives, knowing that God is at the center of our marriage and that we’re preparing to enter this sacred union together, fully committed with Christ at the center!
