Finnriver Farm & Cidery
Family oriented, and family owned Cidery in Chimacum WA. Has indoor & outdoor seating, with lawn games, and live music. After having a flight of cider, food, and ice cream served from other local businesses, enjoy a walk around their beautiful property. Located about 20-25 min from the Puget Sound Express Whale Watching excursion in Port Townsend.
Darby Winery
For sentimental reasons, this is the bride's favorite winery. Her glass of choice is "Chaos," a complex blend of cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Verdot, and Cabernet Franc. It matches the sweet complexity of her daughter, also named Darby.
Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium
A fun day for children and adults, surrounded by the Point Defiance State Park.
Tacoma Glass Gallery & Fusing Studio
A fun 2 hour class on glass fusing. For our out-of-town guests, they ship your creations to you if needed, after they have been fired in the kiln. *Reservations Recommended*
Chalet Bowl
Family owned and operated, first opened in 1941 and is the oldest operating bowling alley in Washington. *Reservations recommended.*
Chambers Bay Golf Course
Although a beautiful golf choice, it is also a paved trail with a tremendous panoramic view of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountain Range. Chamber's Bay Loop is a 3.25 mile paved trail with both flat and steeper elevations. Parking at street level on Grandview Drive has access to the flat walking areas. The second parking lot below the Golfing store leads to a grassy park, a scenic bridge with beach access, and eventually the steeper elevations of the trail.
Puget Sound Express
Whale watching excursion. Recommend bringing a waterproof jacket and/or sweatshirt, and sunglasses. Great company, very friendly staff. Located out of a beautiful Scandinavian city. This is about a 20-25 min drive from the Finn River Cidery. *Reservations Recommended*
Space Needle
Easy and beautiful way to see the city and the surrounding mountain ranges. The Loupe Lounge is the only rotating glass floor lounge which serves dinner and drinks. *Reservations recommended.* (www.spaceneedle.com/lounge)
Pike Place Market
Founded in 1907, is the oldest and largest public market in the US, and offers flowers, produce and crafts of all kinds. Also home to the famous Athenian Seafood Restaurant and Bar from the movie "Sleepless in Seattle"
Owen Beach
Accessible through Point defiance park and has a large parking area. Also accessible by driving through the Anthony's Restaurant parking lot (smaller parking area) where you can walk along a short 1/4 mile to Owen beach along a paved walk way right along the water's edge. At Owen Beach, there is a snack bar area for hot dogs, fries, hamburgers, and ice cream bars. There is also an area to rent kayaks and stand-up-paddle boards. They rent by 30 minute increments. It is a great way to spend the day and see our beautiful city from within the sound! Please note: if you go out on the water, we recommend going south (to the right) towards Mount Rainier/Mount Tahoma. Not only does it provides a stunning view of the mountain, but the current will also float you back to Owen beach.
Anthony's At Point Defiance
Delicious PNW seafood right on the water. A great spot to grab a bite after kayaking on the sound. Highly recommend fish tacos!
