Martha & John Patrick

Wedding Party

These are our people! John Patrick and I are so blessed to know each and every one of these lovely humans. We both know a good amount of people from a lot of different life stages, so we decided that we would choose our closest friends/brothers & sisters in Christ who have known us before we have known one another. Both John Patrick and I have immensely grown in the Lord before we began dating (especially when it comes to relationships) so it is so sweet to have people celebrating us and standing next to us who have first hand seen this in our lives.

Claire Anderson

Matron of Honor

Claire and I met when well....I came out of the womb. She is my only blood big sister and I am thankful to have her. While we have had our ups and downs I know I can always call her to tell her about my day or complain that there is never any parking on campus. She is witty, sarcastic and everything I needed in a big sister. I love her intelligence & dedication to school. It inspires me daily! I am beyond blessed to have her by my side as I marry my best friend!

Brendan Rooney

Best Man

Brendan, my brother, is an OG. Brendan and I have had MANY fights and arguments over pointless stuff. We seemed to always be on different pages and wavelengths. As we matured and got older, we grew together as well. Brendan is smart, hilarious, can run forever, and my brother in Christ. I am honored to walk alongside him in life.

Ellie LaMotte

Bridesmaid

Ellie or 'lil sis' and I met when I was a senior in high school and she was a freshman. We hit it off from the beginning and soon became inseparable. We quickly realized our friendship was God's way of showing us that while I did not have a little sister and she did not have an older sister, this was our way to do so (hence lil sis and big sissy). While distance has been so hard for our hearts, we continue to facetime, surprise each other from time to time & never lose touch. Ellie LaMotte is the reason why I love writing letters to people (she always put letters in my locker) and I am forever thankful and honored to do life with her by my side!!

Will Hinson

Groomsman

Will, aka Bo, has been my great friend since middle school. We grew up playing soccer and going to Bojangles. Even when going to different high schools, we stuck together. We are very similar and he is easy to talk to. I have many amazing memories with Will and am thankful to have a brother in Christ-like him.

Rilee Blackwell

Bridesmaid

My girl. Honestly, I cannot tell you how Rilee and I met or how we hit it off but our friendship just works. She holds me accountable, she knows deep truths of my heart and she is always a shoulder to cry on...or laugh with or bake with (gluten-free cookies where you at). She is beautiful inside and out and loves others SO well. I am thankful to have this party planning QUEEN as one of my hype girls on the best day ever!!!!

Brandon Melton

Groomsman

Brandon Melton, what a guy. We met when I transferred schools in high school. He immediately became my friend in class, soccer, and outside of school. He is a genuine, loyal friend. It has been amazing to see him grow up and take care of himself and Ruth. Brandon will get you laughing real quick. I am honored to have him in my life and have his help in marriage and life decisions.

Mackenzie Allen

Bridesmaid

Mack & I met when we were freshman at Samford University. We lived in the same building and a compliment on her backpack led us to this point. She is my person. Mackenzie Allen gets me. I do not even have to speak for her to know what is on my mind or for her to so sweetly convict me of things I am struggling with. She is hilarious, outgoing and one of the most loving people you will ever meet. It is a joy to do life with this girl and walk through this season with her! PS make sure to give her a squeeze at the wedding because Mackenzie Allen introduced Jp & I and she is lowkey the reason why we are here about to celebrate our marriage!!!

Clayton Hornback

Groomsman

Clayton is my college pastor in Birmingham. I don’t know how I could have done those 3.5 years without him. I went to MBCC one of my first weeks of freshman year and he made the effort to reach out and get to know each other. He is now my mentor and life-long friend. We have the same sense of humor which is amazing. We have many awesome memories and I am beyond thankful for his wisdom, presence, and prayers throughout the years.

Louisa Hunter

Bridesmaid

My Lou Lou girl. Lou Lou and I were freshman year roommates at Samford. It all started when a mutual friend allowed us to get connected, we stayed up until 4 am texting...on a school night and the rest is history. We created forever memories in Vail 513 & I am forever thankful for that. Louisa has been a constant in my life, especially since leaving Samford when so much of my normal changed. She is intentional, loving, a prank, so much more. To know her is to love her and man oh man do I love her. Thankful for lake weekends, living together & distance not meaning a thing. Let's do the dang thing! PS Louisa is the only person I've ever lived in the same room with besides JP in a few short months.

Brice Turner

Groomsman

Brice taught me many things in high school and college. He is passionate, hilarious, and a baller. Brice taught me what an accountability partner was and inspired me through easy and tough parts of life. I always smile when I am around this brother of mine.

Megan Guinter

Bridesmaid

Meg Meg & I go WAY back. When we were four and I had just moved to Cleveland, Ohio from North Carolina I met Megan at a church event. After it, I went up to my mom and said, "Mom go be friends with her mom because I want to hang out with her". Well, here we are! Both of our families have shared SO many fun memories & it has been a joy to be in so many life seasons with Megan! I am beyond excited to continue this as she stands next to me marrying John Patrick.

Caleb Thornburg

Groomsman

Caleb is that dude. All-around great guy. I loved having him to play soccer, run track, and do life with in high school. His determination is an inspiration to me. I praise God to have his enthusiastic, hilarious, genuine self as a life-long friend. DJ Bird!

Katelyn Bleisath

Bridesmaid

The Lord has been so sweet in my friendship with Katelyn. We have been best friends since high school (and known each other since middle school) & for some reason, we are usually going through similar life stages and changes. Whether that be good or bad, we have so sweetly been able to encourage and equip the other to be their best self. Since high school, we have both grown immensely & we have enjoyed looking back on where we came from to where we are now. The Lord is SO good! Crazy to think I am getting married & I have the honor to have her walk through this life season as well!

Luke Springs

Groomsman

Luke is amazing. He is not afraid to be himself and ignore the haters. I loved having him throughout high school. We have many memories from class, track, and beyond. Luke is a lifelong friend and shows me what a solid, genuine friend is.

DeAnna Wingett

Bridesmaid

DeAnna was my young life leader in high school, but she was (and is) SO much more than that to me. She is someone who so sweetly shares truth, encourages me and challenges me. She loved me when I didn't know the Lord, to when I learned what it was like to follow the Lord, to now where I am walking with the Lord as a sinner who has been redeemed by the Blood. I am thankful she has been there every step of the way, yet has not left my side. I am so blessed to have a friend, sister in Christ and BRIDESMAID like this girl. There is truly no one like DeAnna Wingett!

Ishaun Wright

Groomsman

Ishaun has been my friend since elementary school. We have gotten to see each other grow up from little kids to now. I am beyond thankful for his testimony and boldness for Christ. He teaches me wisdom and passion in light of the Word. It has been a true blessing to know him and see him grow as well as teach me life skills.

Anne Swanson

Mother of the Bride

Anne is one of the sweetest people I know. Her heart to serve and share the love of Christ with others is amazing to witness. I strive to be as quick to share the gospel with others as she is. She is bold and faces difficult circumstances like a pro. I am so glad to soon be her son-in-law. She makes some killer desserts, breakfast foods, and meals in general. I admire the way she cares for her mother as well. Anne is so easy to have a conversation with and I love to hear about her experiences throughout life.

Alli Evanoff Rooney

Mother of the Groom

Ms. Alli and I hung out for the first time just the two of us on September 22, 2018. I drove an hour to hang out with the mom of the boy who I wasn't even dating. We talked for a few hours and it was that lunch date/day that confirmed I did not want to be John Patrick's friend so I told him that night. Since that day, Ms. Alli and I have continued having intentional time just the two of us, bonded over being the two girls in a family of boys (boys can be gross) and challenged each other in our walks with Christ. She has gone from the mom of my best friend to one of my closest friends who I couldn't do life without. She is an inspiration to me in many ways and I count it a joy to soon call her my mother in law.

Tim Swanson

Father of the Bride

Tim has been an amazing influence in my life since the day we met at Chick-fil-A. The way he leads his family is inspirational. At first, like any kid wanting to pursue his daughter, I was intimidated by him. As we hung out more and I got to know him better, I realized we are very similar and he is one of the funniest people I know. I am honored to soon be his son-in-law. Whether it’s talking sports, enjoying desserts, or asking him to marry his daughter, I enjoy all my time with Tim. He treats me like a son already.

Dan Rooney

Father of the Groom

Dan. The. Man. Dan is one of the goofiest humans I know and I never have a dull moment when he is around. He is constantly teaching me football (and re-teaching...sorry Dan), laughing about something or having Dan specific moments that are just too good (if you know him, you know what I'm talking about). He is someone I can relate to, talk to and most definitely play cards against humanity with. He is such a selfless human who never hesitates to help others and sacrifice what he has been given. I am thankful to know him and do life with him. I look forward to seeing him tear it up on the dance floor and make the best day of our lives even greater!

Ella Grace & Jack Morris

Flower Girl & Ring Bearer

I (Martha) first met these two precious ones when I babysat for them during my semester off. Their mom, Jessica (one of my dear friends too), told me that Ella Grace would not go to bed for me no matter how hard I tried. Well, I took that as a challenge and by the end of the year (I was babysitting them once a week), you better bet your bottom dollar that my girl was going to sleep while I was there. These kids bring me and John Patrick so much joy and happiness. We have watched them grow up over the past few years and it has been so sweet to witness. They are both full of personality but are also great listeners and helpers. We cannot wait to have them be a part of our special day!

Cody and Sydney Wittman

Marriage Mentors

Very quickly Syd and I went from being people who had mutual friends to her being someone very influential and crucial in my life. She calls me out on my crap but also loves me like no other. Cody is hilarious, leads his family so well and has the voice of an angel (ask him to sing I dare you). The Wittman family means SO much to me and because of this, John Patrick has gotten to know them since we have started dating. Double dates are frequent and hangouts with the whole family are oh so fun. We adore this family and we are so blessed to know them!

Hudson Castle

Flower Girl

Hudson is one of the most kind-hearted, smiley, precious little girls I know. She is always happy to see me and we always share many giggles and good memories. I am not really sure when our friendship began, but I am so thankful that it did. Hudson is a blessing beyond belief and I look forward to her walking down the aisle right before I do!

Carter Grace and Wes Wittman

Flower Girl and Ring Bearer

I started babysitting Carter Grace the same winter break that Jp drove me home from school. I vividly remember sending him a video of Carter Grace and I play, sharing how much fun I was having. After transferring, I continued to get to know the Wittman family and have not stopped babysitting. I met Wesley just a few days after he was born and it is has been such a joy to see him and Carter Grace grow up. They are so silly and fun! This family feels like a second family to me and John Patrick and I are honored to have all of them be a part of our special day!
