Every Saturday, rain or shine, between April and Thanksgiving, approximately 150 vendors [200-250 in 2022] display their handmade or home-grown products in a park in downtown Eugene, Oregon, The sellers arrive early in the morning and set up their own individual booths. Buyers start to come around 10 AM, and from then on throughout the day the Market is alive with activity: browsing, buying, selling, trading, exchanging information, meeting friends, eating lunch, listening to and playing music. All these and more activities are going on simultaneously. Across the streets from the 'Farmers Market'. We love coming here on Saturday's. Highly recommended to do on Saturday morning.
This is our favorite place to go during the spring and summer months. They have a variety of vendors that sell fresh produce, clothing, jewelry, art, pottery, and more. There is live music and several food trucks. --We highly recommend checking this out the morning of the wedding.
5th Street Market is a bunch of stores- a collection of local enchanting stores, restaurants, tasting rooms, and eateries adjacent to two upscale boutique hotels. Stroll through the courtyard. Listen to the splashing sounds of the fountain. Sip on local wines. There is a food court, we like the burgers. Provisions is a fancy 'grocery' store. It's fun to walk around here. Across the street- check out the Nike store and go down the alley with more local stores. This is considered the "Market District" area. The Gordon Hotel and the Inn on 5th are over here.
One of our favorite places to see Eagles and Owls native to Oregon! Looking for a Friday night event? They are hosting a night at the raptor center Friday August 8. Check out their website. Joe and I have attended this. The Cascades Raptor Center is a raptor refuge and rehabilitation center in the woods of South Eugene. Visit this peaceful bird sanctuary to view and see and learn about owls, hawks, eagles and other raptors that have been rescued.
