We're getting married!

They met in 2000, when they were both kids. Their families worked together in the music industry and they met through them. Deron swears it was love at first sight, but Kayla thinks he exaggerates. They began dating in 2005, but ended up going their separate ways for a while. Over the years they'd bump into each other from time to time, but they mostly danced around each other for many years until 2019 when they began to date as adults. This time they held on to each other.

Right away they knew that they wanted a life together, that they were ready for marriage and children with each other, and they were already expecting little Gabriel. Deron proposed on Christmas Eve of 2019 at the Opryland Hotel. They rode the elevator to the top floor and stood on a balcony overlooking the cascades. Deron was super nervous, which was exacerbated by the lone man hovering around them trying to get photos of the view. Once the man finally left them alone, Deron took a knee, took out the ring and popped the question. Kayla said yes.
