Torre Suda
Torre Suda is Massseria Samenti's town. Its laid-back charm is the perfect introduction to Puglia. The Beach: Spend a peaceful day by the rocky coves and crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea. If you love snorkelling, this is the spot for you! The Tower: Take a stroll to the historic tower (torre) that gives the town its name. It’s especially magical at sunset, with views that feel straight out of a postcard. Local Favourites: We love the relaxed vibe of Torre Suda’s waterfront. If you have time, pop into a local trattoria for fresh seafood—we recommend trying the frisella, a traditional Puglian bread topped with tomatoes, olive oil, and herbs.
Marina di Pescoluse
35 minutes drive from Masseria Samenti - (33 KM) This beach, often called the “Maldives of Italy,” is a slice of paradise. We’ve spent a few lazy afternoons here, and the soft sands and shallow turquoise waters make it perfect for unwinding.
Gallipoli
25 minutes drive from Masseria Samenti (19KM). Gallipoli is one of our favourite places to wander, especially in the evening. Walk across the bridge to the old town, where you’ll find winding cobblestone streets, beautiful churches, and incredible sea views. Stop by the fish market near the harbour—it’s a lively scene and the perfect place to see local life in action. If you’re looking for dinner with a view, Gallipoli has some fantastic rooftop restaurants that overlook the sea.
Lecce
52 minutes drive from Masseria Samenti - (56 KM) Lecce is the city where art, history, and food come together. We love wandering through the stunning Piazza del Duomo at sunset when the Baroque buildings glow in the golden light. Treat yourself to a pasticciotto—it’s one of Marta’s favourite desserts! If you have time, check out the Roman Amphitheatre in the city centre. It’s a fascinating glimpse into Lecce’s ancient history.
Otranto
65 minutes drive from Masseria Samenti (53 KM) Otranto holds a special place in our hearts for its romantic charm and stunning sea views. The Cathedral of Otranto is a must-see, especially the intricately detailed mosaic floor. For a relaxing afternoon, grab a gelato and walk along the seafront promenade.
Santa Maria di Leuca
37 minutes drive from Masseria Samenti (39 KM) The southernmost tip of Puglia is where the Ionian and Adriatic Seas meet—a beautiful and symbolic place. The boat tours from Santa Maria di Leuca take you to hidden caves and beaches you can’t reach by land. Don’t miss the panoramic views from the Lighthouse—it’s one of the most picturesque spots in the region.
Santa Maria Al Bagno
Santa Maria al Bagno holds a special place in our hearts and is one of our favourite spots to visit. This charming seaside town offers stunning views, crystal-clear waters, and a relaxed atmosphere that captures the beauty of Puglia perfectly. While you’re there, we highly recommend stopping by La Pergola for a plate of their incredible Pasta alla Corsara—it’s one of our favourite dishes and a true taste of the region. Whether you’re exploring the picturesque streets, enjoying a swim, or savouring the local cuisine, Santa Maria al Bagno is a gem worth visiting during your stay!
