How We Met?

Dating App, Tacos, COVID, and Lauren's Wedding...

Yes, you read that correctly, we met on a dating app. I (Kim) was feeling bold and decided to message every cute dude in my "you might like" selection. Ryan had a cute smile and fun pictures, so I said 'why not?'. We talked for a few weeks and finally decided to meet in person for Mexican, you can never go wrong with meeting over Mexican food. Even if the meeting is horrible, the food will be good. 😊 He requested we meet at Salsa and Beers in Fayetteville. When I arrived I asked him "Why here?" He goes, "I wanted to take you to some place you've never been." Little did he know how much of a FOODIE I am and how I've been to almost every local restaurant (or had take out) in and around Fayetteville. We bonded over unlimited yummy salsa and cheese dip. It was a good date... not love at first sight... but definitely started a great friendship. Then COVID happened. Everything was shut down. I was isolated with my roommate and he was stuck with his family. But we messaged each other every day, all day about everything. This went on for months until July when I received an invitation to, my sorority "unofficial" Big Sister, Lauren's wedding. It had a plus one... but who should I ask? Everyone and I mean everyone... (including LadyBelle... she was over me talking about this dude 24/7) said RYAN! So I asked. He said he needed to check his work schedule but he would love to. 2ish months later we drove to Savannah for our 3rd date (our 2nd was picking outfits out for the wedding). We learned A LOT about each other (weird and silly trivia) on that car ride. Not long after returning home (and my awakening from my after travel coma), Ryan officially asked me to be his girlfriend (or lock it down as he put it).

How He Popped The Question

It always starts with a Mexican restaurant...

On our 4 month anniversary (the day before Valentine's Day), Ryan popped the question at a local Mexican restaurant (the one my family frequented before mom become ill... she loved their Garlic Shrimp). Ryan had no idea of the history or memories this place had but it felt like mom gave her seal of approval.❤️
