We recommend coming by 2:45 PM so you have time to settle in before the ceremony starts at 3:00.
Yes! We’d love for our guests to join us in semi-formal attire (i.e. business casual). Think cocktail dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or skirts/blouses for women, and dress shirts with slacks (with or without a tie or jacket) for men. Just a step up from casual, but not as formal as black-tie.
It depends on the weather. If it's raining or other uncomfortable outside, we will host the ceremony indoors. Otherwise we plan to set up on the lawn outside the lodge. Same goes for the reception - ideally it will be hosted outdoors but in case of inclement weather, we will plan on being inside. Food and facilities will be indoors regardless of weather for convenience and to provide a place to sit.
Yes, and it is free. There is a gravel parking lot in front of the lodge that should accommodate plenty of parking. As it is only 20-25 minutes from downtown Durham, you may want to consider Ubers/carpooling for convenience as well as rideshare is not terribly expensive at that distance. The lot is conveniently located close to both the ceremony and reception spaces, so you won’t have far to walk.
Yes! We love children and would be delighted to have them join in our celebration. Kids are very welcome at both the ceremony and reception. We are considering having childcare available but that has not been decided upon at this point. There is a playground on the grounds that is close by should you need to step away to entertain little ones at any point.
Yes! In fact, we’d love that. Shipping gifts straight to our home makes it easier for everyone - you won’t have to carry anything to the wedding, and we’ll get to enjoy unwrapping them together once we’re back from the big day.
Yes! Feel free to use #TheHuntBegins. We can’t wait to see all your fun, silly, and unforgettable moments—help us relive the celebration through your eyes! We do ask that you refrain from using cell phones during the ceremony however. There will be photographer(s) taking shots and we ask that you enjoy the moment instead of trying to capture it.
If we are aware of your +1 already, he/she should already be on the list. If not, text us and let us know! It was likely an oversight on our part. Married couples & families with child(ren) are included on one RSVP.
No kids yet :) Maxine really loves her cousins.
