We love your kids! But we want our special night to be your night off, as well. We kindly ask that you leave your kids with a sitter and enjoy a night off on us!
Our dress code is black tie optional, meaning break out your fancy clothes! Ladies, think formal dresses (any length is fine!), and gents, think suits or tuxes. Kate will give ten bucks to anyone who wears the tux they wore to prom.
If you invitation specifies "and guest," then by all means!
Your presence at our wedding is a gift to us! If you are considering additional gifts, we do please ask that all gifts be sent to our Seattle address on file with each registry in lieu of bringing gifts to the wedding.
There's no two ways around it - this is a suburbs wedding (Aurora) where most out-of-towners are staying in a nearby 'burb (Naperville) and all the fun stuff to do is a drive away (Chicago). For this reason, we highly recommend getting a rental car for the weekend (see the Travel page). If you don't want to rent a car, you can definitely find Ubers (yes, even in the suburbs) and can easily take the train to downtown Chicago from most suburbs (just Google the Chicago Metra and find your nearest line!)
