How We Met

January 1, 2019

It all started when I asked my friend/boss Sandra to help me find someone to date. Sandra suggested I make an extensive list of what I was looking for in a man and send it to our friend Matt. Honestly, I didn't expect much to come of it but it sounded like a fun idea nevertheless. But after getting my list Matt immediately knew his good friend, Marshall, was the perfect fit. It took a few months for us to get the timing right, but Marshall finally got my number and invited me to watch the Sugar Bowl with a few friends on New Years Day. We quickly planned a first date for that weekend and have been smitten with each other ever since.

The Proposal

January 5, 2020

For our 1 year anniversary Marshall suggested that after church we recreate our first date- burgers at Ocmulgee Brewpub then going down the slides at Coleman Hill Park. It was such a romantic idea, so I was a little suspicious that it would be the perfect set up for a proposal. But he seemed so normal and calm all morning at church and lunch that I convinced myself it couldn't be today. After going down the slides and returning to the top of the hill, Marshall hugged me and began telling me about how being with me had made this the best year of his life (and of course I felt the same way). Next thing I knew he was down on one knee asking me to marry him! After saying yes (among other excited babblings) and a few celebratory hugs and kisses, Marshall revealed that he had one of our amazing friends, Ashah, hiding taking pictures the whole time! It was absolutely magical.
