Zay's Version of Our Beginning

So, I was doom swiping on dating apps one night when I came across Courtney's profile. I swiped right on her and didn't think anything of it, and a few moments later I was notified that we matched. We messaged each other, exchanged numbers, and I texted her. She never responded. Come to find out, she gave me the wrong number. She messaged me back on the dating app and apologized for the mishap. After a brief texting back and forth, my mind was racing because we connected on so many things in our conversation. I kept wondering if I had finally made an actual connection after so many failed attempts with dating in Atlanta. We decided that It was time to meet in person, so we set a date and moved on with our day. On the day we met, I had to wake up early the next morning for work so it would only be for a brief moment. We decided to meet at my place since she was already on my part of town leaving her best friend's house. When she arrived and knocked on my door, I was a little nervous, but excited! Wanting to make a good impression, I did my best to keep my composure. When I opened my door, a feeling I hadn't felt in a very long time came upon me. I fell completely in love. In front of me was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. The beautiful smile, nice hair, and her body almost gave me a stroke! I couldn't believe how perfect she looked. She followed me into my office, where I showcased some of my artwork and explained in detail the comic business and what my strategy was to break into the business. What's interesting is that she could barely look at me, as if she didn't seem interested. She was only staring at a marketing banner I had printed for art conventions, which I hoped meant she was interested in my work. Later I would find out that she didn't want to look at me because she was super nervous about meeting me and looking into my eyes.

Courtney's Version of Our Beginning

The chance of meeting Zay was truly by happenstance, especially during the PANDEMIC. My grandfather had recently passed, but our last conversation stayed with me. Amongst other things, he said, “Baby, when you gonna get married?” I said, “Grandpa, you gotta find me someone to marry because the good ones are far and few in between!” He passed away roughly 2 weeks after that conversation. After the funeral, I spoke to my cousin Brianna of our conversation and she said, “You need to try the Facebook dating app, I've found a few reputable men on there!” So begrudgingly, I did. Not to my surprise though, the app didn’t work out that well for me in the beginning. But one day, I came across this attractive guy with hazel eyes, liked to work out, play video games, and has his own anime comic book series! I had to get to know him! But things started off rocky as I initially gave him the wrong phone number and cancelled our first meet up due to bad weather. Finally, we were able to meet one evening and I was so nervous. After greeting him and his dog, I basically never gave full eye contact and focused on his dog to keep my cool (lol). Our meeting was short since we both had work the next day, but we definitely agreed to meet again the following weekend. Needless to say, after 2 weeks of getting to know him, I excitedly told him that I deleted my Facebook app to drop the hint that I was interested and the rest is history!
