Our story begins as many do, in college. I can remember seeing her on campus as that girl I kind of knew but wanted to get to know better. As our friendship grew we began spending more time together. We would drive around with no real place to go late at night through the streets of Lakeland Florida. On those drives, we would talk, listen to music, and sometimes grab a late-night coffee. It was on those drives that I really started to fall in love. Fast forward three and a half years or so, and we can't wait to spend the rest of our lives with each other.
I have a terrible memory for details - I still swear to this day that his truck was blue when we first met, not red. But I do remember the way he made me smile. We’d go night fishing around Lakeland and just talk about anything - life, God, dreams and aspirations, and how these fish just never seem to bite. Little by little, we formed a deep friendship, but my heart was still guarded from anything more than that. He was steadfast and patient... though his exuberance at times would terrify me. At the end of the day, his passion for life gave me the courage to take a leap of faith. As he loves to say “if you’re walking on thin ice, you might as well dance!” I couldn’t have asked for a better person to dance through life with.
