Welcome!

Thanks for visiting our wedding website! We are saddened that our big, elaborate day we had planned for April 18th was altered due to COVID-19. For those that don’t know, we went ahead and tied the knot in April with our direct family members present. Our new date, September 7th, will be a reception-style event where we can celebrate this marriage with food, drinks and tons of fun!

The Rekindling of A Love

Most of our friends and family know that Chase and I dated in high school; most may also know that this second go-around came out of nowhere! In the fall of 2018, casual and inconsistent conversation led to catching up on each other’s lives and the whole thing took off from there. My mom was in the middle of a search for a new vehicle and Chase was selling cars in Ohio. I asked him about a certain make and model and told him we may be interested in driving up to test drive. After some time, mom and I found her a nice vehicle here in KY and I thanked Chase for his help anyway. He asked for my address so he could send a “thank you” card for the referral to my mom. One Friday night, I came home from work and was on the recliner chatting with Chase and he asked if I used my front door when I got home. I said no and asked why- he told me to go look at the door. A pretty vase with flowers was sitting on the stoop and the card said, “P.S. We don’t send thank you cards.” Chase says that at the time, he figured it could go one of two ways- I would say “aww, what a nice friend” and move on or consider giving our relationship another go. So, here we are! Shoot your shot, fellas!

The Proposal

August 2019

It’s true when we say that Chase likes to fly by the seat of his pants and never plans anything ahead of time. But, Chase sat on the idea of proposing for a few months, so I guess we can give him a little bit of credit for planning soooomething ;) The proposal came on a random Monday in the comfort of our own home, so it was completely unexpected and casual- which was absolutely fine by me. It also involved tacos, so what more could I want?! While lounging on the couch after work, I asked Chase for a solid thirty minutes to go get me a taco from the kitchen since he previously insisted on making me tacos that night. He kept putting it off and talking to me about random things so in my stubbornness, I said, “Fine, I’ll go get one myself!” When I walked into the kitchen, our message board above the sink read: “Mr and Mrs Messer coming soon.” He made a comment about the board but I didn’t really think much about it other than “awww, that’s cute!” While I was standing at the stove stirring up my taco meat, he reached both arms around me with the ring in hand. When I turned around and listened to his words, his hands were shaking and he initially put the ring upside down on my finger. Between all the nerves and the aroma of the tacos around me, I said YES!
