Taylor joined the Bassett Marching Band in the winter of her freshman year. James was already involved in the drum line, but their story does not begin until the Fall Semester of 2014 when the entirety of the band had been planning their Nationals Competition in Indianapolis. Taylor and James had begun to notice each other, as friends of course. And you see can where that ended up! Who else can say their first kiss was in Indianapolis, Indiana during a Nationals Band Competition?

Taylor graduated from Ferrum College with a Bachelor's of Social Work on May 11, 2019. The "after party" (also located at the HBJD Center), began after a down pour of rain and James proposed to Taylor with close family and friends in the room!
