Austin and Allison’s story began in 2015 when the two found themselves at an event that Allison was volunteering at. Austin left their initial meeting speechless and through many days of trying, finally found an email for Hunt with Heart (the organization she was volunteering for) and was able to get a hold of a board member who then forwarded the email to Allison’s Father. Allison was reluctant to respond, but was encouraged by her Father to at least acknowledge his efforts to reach out. For the next couple of months, the two got to know each other. On their first date Allison took a trip to Yoakum, Texas to visit Austin’s hometown, where she assumed they would ride horses and fish because what else do you do in a small town? She quickly found out that truly was just a stereotype, but even so he made sure they did every “small town” activity on her list. They both were attending Texas A&M at the time where they hung out a few more times, but disconnected after that. Fast forward to six years later. Austin was wanting to start a nonprofit similar to the one Allison was volunteering for when they met and the one she is currently running. He reached out to ask a few questions and wanted to meet up to discuss. He clearly had another agenda besides just discussing a nonprofit. This time it was very clear to them that God had greater plans for their relationship than just friends.
