Ever since the wonderful days of middle school we have known of each other. A few years later at the age of 16, going to seperate high schools could not keep us from discovering our love for one other. The spark of initial interest came from spending time together in parish youth group as juniors in high school. Going to events and gatherings in a group allowed our relationship to begin as a friendship and blossom into a romance.
During a fun filled trip to Notre Dame to watch a football game, Eddie popped the question during a stroll around campus. With family in attendance, in front of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes at Notre Dame, Eddie popped the question. Alicia was in complete shock and filled with excitment. The emotional moment was made even more special knowing that it was in the presence of Our Lady. Even though it was a cloudy, rainy morning, the rain seemed to subside moments before the proposal.
Managing the relationship while going to different high schools was not too big of an issue. However, taking care of each other while attending different universities across the country from each other was much more difficult. Seeing each in person so seldomly made for countless facetime dates and many amazon prime gift deliveries. Only being able to spend time with each other during semester breaks highlighted how precious time was with each other. After graduation, job opportunities in seperate cities caused us to be apart once again, but at least this time it was in the same state. After around 2 years we are finally together. Even though long distance relationships take a lot of commitment and trust, it is possible. We made it!
