Our story began over a mutual love of country music, much to Darren's surprise some "city girls" do enjoy the country and the music that goes along with it. Flash forward a year and one failed attempt to pass of Jack Links Jerky as home made elk jerky a first date was in order. I was under the impression that Tokyo Joes was on the menu for the night but Darren had a pig wings bbq dinner selected from the Berkshire instead. After, nerves were calmed and I learned Darren was not just a CT button pusher, conversation began to flow. Before we knew it, time was up and Darren headed back to drop me off. Nerves kicked in again and instead of letting Darren walk me to my door an awkward side hug was dispensed and Darren thought he was permanently in the friend zone. One awkward first kiss, an accidental meeting of Darren's Dad, and a Halloween dress for Darren later we became a couple.
Our love grew into something more when Darren decided to buy the perfect ring on the 4th of July. His plan was to go camping with the family and my two best friends. He wanted to hike up to Red Lake but weather didn't allow for this to happen. So instead he settled for Trujillo Meadows which was actually being drained. After a long walk, several mud puddles, weird behavior and comments from Darren and my friends Darren walked us off to "the honey hole fishing spot". Walking through ankle deep mud we finally reached a rock. Darren got down on one knee...to tie his shoe first of course, he asked me to marry him in the middle of a mud puddle, I excitedly said yes to spending forever with Darren.
