TIS THE SEASON TO BE MERRIED.

We met in December of 2013. We only kinda knew each other when Austin texted me and asked me what I was doing for New Years. He ended up joining me and my friends (and the whole city of Nashville) down on Broadway for the Note Drop. We talked and laughed the whole night, and as it started getting closer to midnight, I started getting nervous that he might try to kiss me. In true Emily fashion as the clock struck 12, he leaned in and I ducked. I made it up to him when I kissed him on the pedestrian bridge on the way back to the car. Flash forward just shy of 5 years, we were taking a hike through the smoky mountains last November. We were walking on this wooden narrow bridge over a gushing mountain stream when Austin said something about tying his shoes, and the next thing I know there was a beautiful rose gold ring in his slightly shaky hands. I was so shocked when he asked, I responded “Is this real?” All He said was “I have the ring, I have the ring.” When I came to my senses that he was proposing I said “YES.” -
