Hudson and Grace grew up together at Grace Community Church in Jacksonville, Florida. Though involved in the same programs such as Taekwondo and homeschool group, they were never anything more than friends. Then when Hudson's family moved to Arizona when he was starting high school, communication between the two ceased. However, on a summer trip back to Florida in 2015, Hudson and Grace began to text each other. This continued through Hudson's first year at Master's University. In summer of 2016, they began to FaceTime and text much more frequently. When Grace started attending Master's in Fall of 2016, the two decided to go on a date to Jamba Juice, where they discussed deep theological topics (not generally what people talk about on their first date). However, they considered their first "official" date as a success and continued as boyfriend and girlfriend, even after Hudson had graduated. They dated for 10 months long distance, and this was the defining point of their relationship. Though they had strived to have Christ as the foundation for their relationship beforehand, long distance dating helped to show Hudson and Grace the areas where they needed the most growth. Though there were many hard days, both Hudson and Grace consider long distance dating to be a blessing. It taught them to put their identity in Christ and not in one another. It taught them that they needed to die to self constantly and serve another, as they sought to honor Christ in everything. It taught them to seek for guidance and wisdom in older believers as they sought to grow to become more like Christ. On February 10th, surrounded by their friends, Hudson proposed to Grace at Disneyland in California. What an incredible day that was. Now Hudson and Grace are preparing for their next stage of life (marriage), and on July 14th, they hope you that you are able to celebrate it with them.
