A 30-40 minute commute on a Monday for a blind date felt like the worst possible set up. We met up at Twisted Root for burgers before heading to a baseball game and I immediately took to Jillian's energy - it radiated off her. Hours of conversation later, we finally looked at the TV and saw the game was in the 7th inning. When the restaurant closed, we continued walking around Arlington chatting away for another hour minimum. I left that date knowing something was different. Turns out I had met my best friend and love of my life.
He had been hinting at walking around White Rock Lake for weeks and I finally agreed. No makeup. Mismatch outfit. Didn't brush my hair. During our walk, I noticed he wasn't next to me after we had stopped for a "water break" and when I turned back, saw he was on one knee. I don't remember all the sweet, awesome, absolutely gushy things that were said. After we hugged he leaned back and asked, "Sooo, is that a yes?". Yes! Yes! Then we went to Whataburger.
