This pre wedding event is an opportunity for the wedding party/close friends & family to mingle while women get their henna done. Henna artists will be on sight and guests may get henna done once bridal party & family have gone. Men are more than welcome but typically don't attend unless they are close to the bride. South Asian Boujee - Royal and Ceremonial - Men: Sherwanis - Women: Sarees and Lehengas
The Baraat is the celebratory entrance of the groom. The grooms is accompanied by a little boy known as the sarwala while friends and family dance him in with live music playing to entrance of the venue where the brides sisters/bridesmaids will "stop" him from entering until he pays an acceptable entry tax. Once entered, the brides family will seat the groom and his family while the bride makes her entrance with her brothers. They will then perform the Nikkah Ceremony followed by reception with lots of dancing, food and drinks! Some places to shop for south asian wear is located in the recommendations tab on the site.
