Ubers are the best way to get around the city of Merida! It is very safe, accessible, and affordable. However, if you would like to explore on your own outside of the city, to places like Chichen Itza, you will need to book a tour or get a rental car. Keep in mind you do need to purchase an insurance package with any rental car in Mexico.
