We waited 2,888 days for this party

David and I met almost seven years ago, bonding over our love of Game of Thrones. On our first meetup, Fourth of July Weekend 2016, we met at the outlets, a nice safe place to vet serial killers. Time slipped away as shopping turned to coffee, coffee to burritos, and before long, 5 hours had passed. Two days later our first official date was to see Now You See Me Too. I knew I was in trouble when David stood waiting for me in the shirt I had helped him pick out a few days before. We connected over Disney-priced bottled water and, with the theater to ourselves, talked through the whole movie. When the perfect night was over, as David leaned in to seal the deal with a kiss, I jumped in my car and sped away. The story almost ended there, but I wooed him with a good night text. I must have said something right because after five job changes, our first home, a long-distance move, and the greatest puppy in the world, he finally put a ring on it!
