Colin was stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and Jordan had just moved into her first apartment after college, beginning her career. Neither of us were thinking we would truly find love, but as fate would have it, Colin—true to military form—decided to take a chance and “shoot his shot.” We figured, why not see where this could go? That night, over too many margaritas at Condado Tacos, we stayed until they nearly kicked us out, completely captivated by each other. From that moment on, we were inseparable. Whether it was spending time together in person or texting and calling when we weren't, we couldn’t get enough of each other. There was laughter, smiles, and the unmistakable feeling that love was in bloom. Just two months later, Colin’s ankle surgery became the perfect excuse for Jordan to invite him to “temporarily” move in—he was going to need some help recovering, after all. But what was supposed to be temporary quickly became permanent. We were so use to having each other around, we couldn’t imagine it any other way. But life had more changes in store. Colin was set to move to Tampa in the coming months. We knew time was limited, so we packed in as many adventures as we could—and plenty of Chipotle runs. When the day finally came for Colin to leave, our hearts ached. But we were determined to make it work. There were countless flights, tearful “see you laters”, and the best surprise visit to Ohio that left Jordan in happy tears—an unforgettable core memory for us both. Eventually, we knew we didn’t want to do long-distance any longer. Jordan quit her job, broke her lease, sold what she could, and packed up everything else. She made the drive—Mateo in the backseat— to the Sunshine State to start our life together. Our lives were officially one again. Since then, our story has continued to unfold. Colin commissioned as an officer in the Air Force, which brought another move—this time to Texas. We adopted our sweet boy Batman, and the craziest, most fun-loving pup, Ruger, bought our first home, and weathered the emotional roller coaster of a deployment together. December 12, 2024—Colin had planned a long weekend trip to Vail, Colorado. On the most perfect day, with the breathtaking snow-topped mountains as our backdrop, he got down on one knee. It was thoughtful, heartfelt, and everything Jordan had ever dreamed of. A moment we’ll treasure forever. The beginning of our forever.
