We met at the Ghost Bar, located inside of the W Hotel years ago. Back then, my girls and I would take turns planning monthly outings. Well it was my turn to plan and I had heard about a Bebe fashion show that was going on that night. So we arrived at the Ghost bar, and went straight to the patio where I first noticed Marquis. Shortly after, some guy outta nowhere walked by, grabbed my friend's drink out of her hand, and kept walking. First, we were confused but immediately started laughing cause like who does that?! Next thing you know, my girls and I are kicking it with Marquis and his homeboy for the rest of the night. I even took a picture with Marquis not knowing I had met my husband and the love of my life. At the end of the night, Marquis gave me his card (not for business purposes lol) and I remember walking away thinking, "that was a really cool guy." I ended up calling him several days later and we had dinner that evening. What started out as a friendship blossomed into something more and what an adventure it has been. With God's grace, we're looking forward to our next adventure as husband and wife!

A few friends and I attended a fashion show one evening. I'm generally open to networking, and sometimes think I'm fashionable, so it seemed like a viable plan for a standard evening. 20 mins into the event, we noticed several ladies gathered on the patio; my friend walked by and confiscated a beverage from one of them, which in turn created a frenzy of laughs, banter, and the after-party dancefloor. A few conversations ensue, then a meal, a trip here, there, and 17 years later we've traded that fashion show runway for an aisle to the altar. I met my friend, partner, wife, and top model - apparently it turned out to be a great evening.
