Alex and Marquis are high school sweethearts. They first met through Alex’s best friend Allison and not too long after their initial introduction, Marquis asked Alex to be his girlfriend in Perkins Park on March 2nd, 2003.

The night of Alex’s 10 year high school reunion, November 25th, 2017, Marquis asked her to marry him in Newark’s Central Park. He decorated the gazebo with rose petals and had both of their friends and families there to watch and celebrate as he popped the question.
