The Introduction

2007

Well folks, for those of you who don't know our story... Let's take it back a few years, well eleven, but who's counting? We actually met mid-way through our junior year of high school (Go Bears) and we were introduced by the Best Man himself, Nicholas Marquez. Yes, Travis's TWIN brother. I (Laura) emphasize twin because after moving to Chandler my 8th grade year, I had NO idea that Nick had a twin brother throughout the 4 years of our friendship. Seriously. Not a clue. Until one day in our Math class, Nick decides to mention that he needed to meet up with his brother after class. My reaction to that went a little like this: "Wait, you have a brother? ...and he goes to our school? Is he a Senior? Sophomore? Nick literally looked at me as if I had eight heads and replied "uh? no he's a junior? it's my twin brother, Travis!" I proceeded to freak out and say "Wait, WHAT! YOU HAVE A TWIN? I don't believe you. No way." Shocked that I even questioned him, Nick replies, "I'll introduce you guys after class, how did you not know I have a twin?" Fun fact, Travis and I had NO attraction to one another. That winter, mutual friends were hosting a New Year's Eve party that year and well... Travis and I rang in 2009 by kissing each other at midnight and boom! 9 years later, here-we-are. That's why we felt having our wedding on New Year's Eve would be a perfect way to celebrate!

The Proposal

May 11, 2013

Oh the proposal! It was the best, most surprising way anyone could've ever planned or imagined! During Laura's last week as a college student at Arizona State University (Go Devils), Laura was certain that their puppy, Charlie was her graduating gift. Mind you, Travis adopted Charlie only four days prior to the proposal (little did she know what Travis had planned that upcoming weekend). With all of our family and friends celebrating the graduate...Laura's parents took the floor with congratulatory toasts that followed with Travis taking a moment to speak as well. Travis begins his speech of how proud he was of Laura of all of her hard work and dedication; next thing we knew Travis is down on one knee in front of both families and asked for her hand in marriage. Please help us ring in 2019 in style and join us where it all began. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to party. We can't wait to celebrate with you!
