On May 1st, 2021, two of my friends dragged me out of the house and onto 6th Street in Austin. That same night, Jarrett was there too, celebrating his friend and groomsman, Melvin’s bachelor party. Somewhere between the music and the crowd, one of the other groomsmen, Anthony, introduced us. On November 19th, I visited him for the first time in Houston. That trip changed everything. Somewhere between long conversations and our first date, we made it official on November 22, 2021, which ties into our wedding weekend. (: In the presence of our parents, best friends, and family, Jarrett proposed to me on New Years Day in 2025 as the clock struck midnight. And now here we are, five years later. We’ve grown up together in so many ways, learning each other, choosing each other, building a life side by side. The “country man” I met on 6th Street became my best friend and now my husband! We cannot wait for our family and friends to celebrate the beginning of this chapter with us!
