Little story I had just come back from India after covid hit in August of 2020. I was playing soccer with some friends when Marlon and Leani brought a ton of snacks and drinks for everyone. I was in awe that they cared so much about people who they didn't even know that well. And that is the day when I met both of them. Me and Marlon share a lot of personality traits which is definitely a big reason of our great friendship. He has been there for me when no one was and has helped me get through so many challenges in college! Love you dude Leani is honestly one of the most kind hearted person I know. She makes me laugh and I think that is the best trait I could have ever asked for in a friend. For an Indian festival called Rakshabandhan she put on the band which a sister gives to her brother in return for love protection and care which was the sweetest thing. They may not be blood related but they are my family.

I met Leani about six years ago through mutual friends and our friendship has grown exponentially since then. She is a great listener and an even better friend. For those that don’t know me , Marlon and I go back all the way to middle school in Cuba. He is the brother I never had and the best friend I could’ve ever asked for. I remember when our trips overlapped one day in Berlin and we barely made it to her bus because we had been partying and the subway stopped running. Although we had been friends a long time before, this is one of those moments that brought us closer together. Although I haven't shared many moments with Marlon, I see how happy he makes her. Marlon and I have been friends since we were kids. As far as I can remember Marlon was my first friend. Our friendship has truly transcended time. I came to the US in 2006 and every time my parents would reach out to his we would speak on the phone even though we were obviously being forced by our parents. The first time I went back to visit Cuba I stayed at his house before staying at my family’s, that’s the type of friendship we’ve had. Marlon is family to me and will always be. A popular study says it all: If a friendship lasts longer than seven years, psychologists say it will last a lifetime. According to science we’re friends for life now. I’m glad you have found love my friend, and I wish you and Leani all the blessings possible.

In 1998, when I was just 4 years old I met Marlon, and that little melon head became part of my life on that moment. Growing up we had a brotherlike relationship and I recall getting frustrated with him, because as much as he is a relaxed and loving person now, he was ANNOYING as a kid! I couldn’t be prouder of the person he has become and all that he has accomplished. I first met Leani in college, and funnily enough we were suitemates for a year before becoming friends! I did not realize how much we had in common and how well we’d get along until we flew halfway across the world together to Germany! That study abroad trip was what launched us into being lifelong friends. I couldn’t have chosen a better person to explore Berlin with day in and day out. We quickly became close friends and even decided to live together for a long time after that! I am so incredibly lucky to have spent so much time with Leani. So many late nights, Disney singalongs, and horror movies that she’d make me watch…wouldn’t trade it for the world! I never expected for the random girl living next to me sophomore year to be in my life five years later and become one of the people I love and treasure the most. And watching her and Marlon’s relationship grow and blossom into marriage has been so amazing. I am so blessed to be in Leani’s life and taking part with her on this wonderful day!

Marlon & Leani, I met Marlon a little over 6 years ago. We were not that close at the time, but I was always impressed on his social skills. He brings positive energy to every single place he goes and has the ability to make everybody feel welcome. We got close about 4 years ago at the beginning of college. It was fun, we were roommates with our friends Nico and Nico. We lived countless experiences, it was a very fun time, many nights of Warzone and FIFA which at some point jeopardize my grades. However, prioritizes first, right? Then, at one point in our journey as the “Cuarteto Ternura”, Leani came to the equation. That was the end of the “fun” part… lol I am joking. Leani is a very caring human being, fun person to be around and I am glad Marlon found somebody like her. Both of you guys are very blessed to have each other. Always remember that your marriage should come first over friends, family, and even kids. You should be truthful to each other from now on and never let anything “slide under the rug”. Communication and honesty are the key for build a strong foundation that will help you stay together in moments of hardship. You are a team, treat it as such.
