2021 marked four of the most amazing years spent together. I knew that I was ready to take things to the next step and ask Shannon to marry me. When Tom and Judy (Shannon's parents) asked if we wanted to plan a trip to Ireland in early 2022, I felt strongly in my heart that Ireland was where I wanted to ask her. The next eight months were spent planning our dream engagement, ring shopping, and keeping it all a secret from Shannon (which was extremely difficult to do!) I was so excited for the day to come. The day had finally arrived! We had planned a day of sightseeing throughout the Wicklow Mountains, with the last stop being the proposal spot. After exploring waterfalls, visiting historic estates, and the iconic bridge from the movie P.S. I Love You, we arrived at Glendalough Lake and walked down to the waterside. Olga, the photographer I hired, was secretly following us and captured the big moment when I got down on one knee. Shannon immediately said "YES!" before I could even finish what I had planned to say. The next hour was spent taking our engagement photos in the Wicklow Mountains. We capped off an amazing day with a great dinner in downtown Dublin and drinks at the famous Temple Bar! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you.
