The bride is a rabbi, so pretty Jewish! The ceremony will be approximately half an hour and in both English and Hebrew (don't worry, almost everything will be translated!) Yarmulkes will be available for anyone who wants to wear a yarmulke but you certainly don't have to! The ceremony will be preceded by the signing of a ketubah, or Jewish marriage contract, which will be read aloud. We will conclude the ceremony with the breaking of the glass, and a hearty yelling of MAZAL TOV! For those who are used to traditional Jewish weddings, our ceremony will be adapted to reflect our egalitarian views of marriage. It will look similar but our rabbi will point out the differences.
Our aesthetic for the wedding is "upscale garden party." Please wear anything that will make you feel comfortable and fancy! Exciting hats are welcomed, as are rainbow stripes, bow ties, and supportive shoes.
The reception and the ceremony will be outdoors. Socially distanced eating areas will be available, and masks will be required indoors.
Please do your best to have your vaccine appointment before the wedding. If you are unable to do so because of medical considerations, lack of eligibility, or shortage of doses, please contact us directly.
