Our Story

Every love story starts somewhere, and ours began in the bustling hallways of the Newberry County Career Center. We’d pass each other between classes — just quick glances and the occasional smile — until fate (and a very 2010s social media moment) stepped in. One day, Jamie liked a “TBH” post on Marley’s Instagram. It read, “TBH you are cool and seem nice, seen you a lot at the career center…” Looking back now, we laugh at how cringe it sounds, but in that moment, it was the start of everything. Messages on Instagram turned into Snapchat streaks, and soon Marley, bold as ever, invited Jamie to a family reunion before we were even officially dating. The official beginning came on August 15, 2015, after a family pool party. Jamie asked Marley to be his girlfriend, and just like that, our chapter as high school sweethearts began. The years that followed were filled with Friday night lights, baseball games, and sideline cheers. Marley was Jamie’s biggest fan, and Jamie was Marley’s steady anchor. College brought its own adventures — Marley at Clemson, Jamie visiting whenever he could — and countless weekends were spent traveling to car shows, creating memories on the road and in the crowd. Fast forward to a warm evening at Frankie’s Fun Park in Greenville, SC. Marley had always said she didn’t want a big, over-the-top proposal, so Jamie planned something perfectly “us.” We played mini golf, laughing and teasing each other all the way to the last hole. On the 18th, Jamie didn’t just sink the putt — he got down on one knee and asked, "Will you marry me?" Marley responded "Of course!" and to make even more nervous moment for Jamie awkward, Jamie asked her "why?". Marley responded with the simplest answer because "I love you!" At the end of the night, Jamie said "I might not have won putt putt, but I think I won tonight.” That moment marked the start of forever. From that first awkward TBH to a lifetime of love, we’ve been growing up and growing together since 2015. High school sweethearts, partners through every chapter — and now, husband and wife.
