Marley: I met Coulter when I was in seventh grade and he was in tenth. He was my JROTC mentor who would come to my middle school to help us on the drill team. It wasn't ever anything romantic, we had a friendly relationship. He and I would always be joking around and messing with one another. We didn't speak much in the years to follow. He stopped mentoring for JROTC and the next time we'd see each other would be in the hallways in high school. Things changed in October of 2015 when we hung out to see a rally in our town of Norcross. We got to see Donald Trump before he was president and we still laugh about it to this day. He offered to buy me lunch afterwards, but I was busy that afternoon. We started messaging each other more often and he was always very nice to me, which I appreciated. Coulter: She wasn't feeling the vibes. Marley: We hung out again later that year for Halloween. He went with a friend and I to Netherworld, which is this huge haunted house attraction. He was scared shitless but he wanted to push through it to impress me. With my birthday around the corner, he officially asked me out on our first date. Admittedly, I didn't have any feelings for him so as a compromise, we went on a double-date with a friend of mine, Sarah & her boyfriend to a pizza place downtown. Coulter: She started feeling the vibes. Marley: After the double-date, we were standing at an overpass at Atlantic Station. He asked me to be his girlfriend, but I had to say no. He made a song about our "breakup," and I felt guilty, but I knew I couldn't lead him on. We had cut contact for the next three years. In January of 2018, fate intervened when his Instagram randomly appeared on my feed. We started following each other again and watching each other's stories. I finally worked up the courage to comment on one of his photos, and he quickly responded. We decided to meet up for coffee in downtown Norcross to catch up, and during that conversation, I fell in love with him instantly because he remembered every little detail from conversations that we had three years prior, which is very uncommon from a man. And, I then realized Coulter is one of a kind man that God has blessed me with. Coulter: I had held a huge crush on her since hanging out that one Halloween. When we got back in contact with each other, everything just sparked. The following years she'd teach me what it meant to love someone and to feel secure. If it wasn't for her, everything in my life would be different. It's crazy to think that the random girl I mentored in my JROTC class would one day be my person, but I wouldn't trade our story for the world. She's everything I've ever wanted and everyday we grow closer as a couple.
