On December 22, 2009, five year old Marley said, “I don’t know who I’m gonna marry, but I know God has someone out there for me!” Fast forward 16 years when twenty year old Marley said, “I’ll never date a bronc rider.” It was the summer of 2025. Marley was working as a timer at Cody’s nightly rodeo. Brice came up from Texas for rodeo season to ride broncs. She considered blocking him after receiving a message from him through Instagram, but decided not to. (He swears following her was an accident, but nobody believes him.) In the midst of enjoying casual banter, she turned him down for lunch twice and refused to let him know where she worked...until the curiosity got the best of her. She started to wonder if he was worth her time. It wasn’t long before she let her guard down, and when he stopped in one day, she realized that he was pretty darn cute. After a bit more banter they decided to meet at the gym. How dangerous could it be when her parents both work out with her? Except the day of the meetup, her parents decided to take the day off. The gym date resulted in way more talking than working out, but it was then that they both realized a connection was brewing. A three hour lunch date ensued where Marley made it very clear that, among other things, she wasn’t interested in dating to date. If he wanted to pursue marriage and meet with her dad, she’d be willing to see him again; otherwise, they would remain friends through Instagram. Eager to see where this would lead, Brice did meet with her dad before asking her out again...and again...and again. It wasn’t long before they both knew they had found their person. On July 14th they made their relationship official, and after weeks of elaborate planning, Brice proposed on February 15, 2026. The Lord truly did have someone out there—for both of them. Her promise to never date a bronc rider still stands. She decided to marry one instead.
